ICCC Memory Project – A History of Indo-Canadians in Ottawa

This project is to compile the life stories of the early immigrants of Indian origin. The senior community members are narrating stories of how they came to Canada, what challenges they faced, and how they established themselves. They will also share their key accomplishments as well as their own contributions to the Indo-Canadian community in Ottawa and in other parts of Canada. For more information … click here.

Speakers Forum

An intellectually inspired Speakers Forum has operated for several years under the auspices of the Indo-Canadian Community Centre.  Its membership consists of professionals drawn from diverse fields, scientists, engineers, physicians, accountants, economists, and so on. For more information … click here.

ICCC Social Network of Women (S.N.O.W.)

The purpose of this network is to bring women together, socialize and share common interests. The group plans to meet regularly (monthly at this time) for social interaction, and

  • Engage in activities of interest to members including those aimed at enhancing knowledge, promoting leisurely activities, and generally contributing to the quality of life (i.e. social, cultural and economic) of its members;
  • Provide input into the activities of the ICCC on issues such as seniors programming, youth development and promoting Indian culture;
  • Support charitable initiatives of other South Asian groups, from time to time — Participated in city wide mental health for women Awareness project by stitching a part for banner to be unveiled later this month.
