The Community Centre Proposal – Resolution
Be it resolved that at the Special General Meeting (SGM) of the general body of members of the Indo-Canadian Community Centre, Inc. (ICCC), held on 2nd March 2019 [click here for the notice of the SGM] at the East India Company Restaurant, Ottawa, On , K2H 5B7, the members, having reviewed the Board’s proposal for setting up the Community Centre in a leased space, hereby approve as follows:
1. That the ICCC Board is authorized to negotiate the Lease Agreement with the “Rideau Community Hub” located at the former Rideau High School, 815 St. Laurent Blvd., Ottawa, ON, for renting a space of approximately 1600 sq. ft. for the community centre, for a minimum of one (1) year period with further extensions, the lease commencing 1st April 2019, the lease rate of approximately $16.00 per sq. ft., along with other suitable conditions recommended by the Legal Counsel; and
2. That the ICCC Board, after signing the Lease Agreement, is also authorized to spend an amount up to $25,000 as laid out in the Board’s proposal [click here to read the proposal], to spruce up and equip the ICCC Community Centre and make it suitable and attractive for the daily use of the members and the Indo-Canadian community at large.
