Indo-Canadian Community Centre hires students during the Summer 

Indo-Canadian Community Center (ICCC) has job opportunities for four (4) students during the summer, for 8 weeks full time (35 hours per week) or 16 weeks part time (17.5 hours per week)

Available Positions:

  1. Administrative Assistant (4)

The Job requirements are detailed below.

Qualifications: 

  • A full-time student between the ages of 15 to 30 years during Sept of last year to June of this year;
  • Will be returning to school in September of this year on a full-time basis; and
  • A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Wages: The wages are at the rate of $17.20 per hour + 4% Vacation Pay. The pay will be given bi-weekly after deducting income tax, UI and CPP at source.

Job Requirements

Administrative Assistant

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • The participant will be responsible for updating, populating, creating, and modifying pages, posts, photo galleries, videos, etc.
  • Create and monitor Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts.
  • The participant shall be required to carry out administrative work, write the user manual, grant application, report writing and presentation, conduct literature review, and update email lists.
  • The participant will survey with the OFIC members to determine the activities that should be taken up by OFIC in the next year.
  • The participant shall be required to carry out other online learning activities as determined by the supervisor.
  • Participant to provide updates on progress made to the supervisor

Skills: 

  • The participant should have excellent writing skills and good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and editing of a book.
  • The participant may have to work from home and therefore must have access to the computer/laptop.
  • Should have good knowledge of Graphic and / or Design software / applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and web /searching.
  • Knowledge of website development/design (WordPress or other) and data analytics and visualization will be considered an asset qualification.
  • The participant should have excellent writing skills. Knowledge / previous experience of designing a book shall be considered as an asset qualification.
