Youth Scholarships Program

The Indo-Canadian Community Centre (ICCC) has established a Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Scholarships program in the amount of $500 for post-secondary (undergraduate) students. minimum of five (5) scholarships will be awarded. The ICCC Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Scholarships will create awareness of ICCC’s social responsibility, attract youth to ICCC and recognize the excellence of students who have made a significant impact in the Ottawa community.

Scholarships Eligibility & Selection Criteria

The Youth Scholarships are open to students of undergraduate degree or diploma programs of University of Ottawa, Carleton University, St. Paul University, and Algonquin College, Ottawa. The winners will be determined on competitive evaluation of individual applications according to the following criteria:

  • Academic achievement (based on the current semester’s and prior year’s two semesters’ academic performance)
  • Involvement in community work and contribution to social causes
  • Your awards, honours and other achievements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • A personal statement highlighting the applicant’s impact in the Ottawa community and how the applicant will help ICCC accomplish its vision and objectives
  • Reference checks

Applicants for the scholarships must have completed at least one year of the post-secondary/under-graduate program. The record of academic performance for the current semester must be submitted along with transcripts for the last two semesters of the prior year.Scholarship Evaluation Committee comprised of three representatives of the Indo-Canadian community will evaluate all applications received in accordance with the scholarship criteria and recommend the selection of winners based on merit. All applicants including the scholarship award winners may apply again next year.Please note that only the scholarship winners will be notified of the scholarship awards.

ICCC Scholarship Fund – Soliciting Donations

Scholarship Fund has been established by the ICCC. The total amount accumulated in the Scholarship Fund will determine the number of the Scholarships to be awarded each year. 

ICCC is soliciting Scholarship donations from the local Indo-Canadian community and the broader Ottawa community. 

To make a donation to the Scholarship Fund, click here to pay by credit/debit card online via Paypal, or remit by e-transfer to treasurer@icccottawa.org or by cheque to the ICCC.

Donations are tax-deductible.
Tax receipts for all donations received in 2019 will be issued in January 2020.
