ICCC Communique #16

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

You are all aware of the pandemic COVID-19 viral infection since this is the main news these days. World Health Organization (WHO) and the Canadian health authorities have made the following recommendations to prevent any further spread. ICCC Board recommends that you kindly adhere to them, which are listed below:

1. Wash hands with soap and warm water for about 20 seconds
2. Maintain cleanliness
3. Avoid direct contact with each other, such as shaking hands or hugging each other (greet with a Namaste, a gentle Smile).
4. Cover your mouth and nose with your arm when coughing or sneezing.
5. Avoid touching any part of the face with unwashed hands
6. Stay at home if you have a flu like illness
7. Avoid large gatherings
8. Use hand sanitizer dispensers (provided at several places)
9. Stay tuned with local news providing latest precautionary measures.

Certain groups of people are more vulnerable (Elderly and immuno-compromised) to this infectious disease. Therefore, events organized by ICCC Seniors and ICCC S.N.O.W., as well as ICCC participation in community sponsored events (e.g. Taj Mahal musical) have already been cancelled until further notice.

You can find more information on the ICCC website: https://icccottawa.org/
