Dear Friends,

You will be pleased to know that the Indo-Canadian Community Centre (ICCC) – a “Values-based Institution”, with its:

Vision: “A United Indo-Canadian Community thriving in the Canadian Mainstream,” and
Mission: “To Connect, Communicate & Collaborate with the Indo-Canadian & Inter-cultural Communities in Ottawa.,”

ICCC had initiated, in October 2023, a new ICCC Active Brainstorm Program”. This new ICCC initiative will feature a series of events on intriguing topics presented by knowledgeable speakers – with Q & A, a practical demonstration and practice session, interactive quiz (when applicable) – to pique your interest and expand your knowledge on a variety of subjects including culture, wellness, neuroscience, meditation, etc.

Please note that the inaugural Active Brainstorm event on 26th October 2023: “What Does Research on Meditation Tell Us About Our Minds?” was a successful event with over sixty attendees. You are kindly encouraged to register for the second Active Brainstorm event – The Science and Art of Pleasure.

  • Date: Saturday, 10 February 2024 (2:00 pm to 3:30 pm).
  • Venue: Greenboro Community Centre, Meeting Room A, 363 Lorry Greenberg Drive, Ottawa.
  • Admission: Free

  • Speaker: Dr. Bhuvanesh Awasthi

Dr. Bhuvanesh Awasthi is a transdisciplinary leader in the science-policy-diplomacy space, currently working as a Behavioral Scientist with the Federal Government in Ottawa. He speaks multiple languages, has visited five continents across the globe and likes to connect with a wide variety of people and cultures. Guided by shared values, and acting with humility and empathy, Dr Awasthi is committed to fostering positive change by applying scientific and indigenous ways of knowing and being.
ICCC Appeal to Join and Contribute

Since 2017, ICCC has provided multiple platforms and opportunities to empower the community with services-oriented initiatives to foster collaboration and promote, in a family friendly manner, India’s cultural heritage while enhancing Canadian multicultural values and mosaic.

ICCC values collaborations and invites you to join and support its various initiatives. Please share your valuable suggestions with us and kindly share the above information with your colleagues, friends, family, and other networks. Encourage them to join ICCC by filling out the Community Directory Form – an easy to follow instructional video to aid in completing the form and additional information about ICCC is available on the website: icccottawa.org.
