Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation Canada (EVFC) has established provides education, health care services under Arogya Abhiyan, and village development in the rural areas and tribal villages of India.
- EKAL Foundation got a big boost in 2018 when India’s Prime Minister Hon. Narendra Modi and Hon. Dr. Harsh Wardhan, Health Minister and Chairman of World Health Organization challenged EKAL to bring about 100,000 villages under its umbrella by 2022, a task that has not only been achieved but surpassed in 2020 by EKAL volunteers providing free education and skills development to approximately 3.2 million children in 120,000 tribal villages in India
- EKAL was established about 25 years ago and has grown internationally throughout the world with chapters in USA, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand.
Ekal is making an urgent appeal to raise funds to help the tribal communities in India deal with the devastating COVID situation in India. Tax receipts are issued directly on-line by Ekal.ca for amounts greater than C$ 25.00
- C$ 500.00 helps educate one full village for one year, while a donation of C$ 1,200.00 helps provide free education and free medical treatments for one village for one year. Donors can choose to be recognized in the village of their choice in their name for one year, if they choose to donate either of this amount
