ICCC Members Communique # 15 (February 2020)

There have been ongoing discussions on various topics relating to ICCC Interests….building community hubs and programs, strengthening ties with the Ottawa Community at large, and connecting with and integrating foreign students from India with the communities in Ottawa through sports.

1] Events with ICCC Involvement and Events Organized by ICCC

February 28th, 2020 at 7:00 pm: India Day – Ottawa 67’s

Event Details: February 28th, 2020 at 7:00 pm at TD Place Ottawa [Lansdowne Park] 1015 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON, K1S 3W7

On February 28th, the Ottawa 67’s will be playing against the Oshawa Generals in a regular season game.

The game has been dubbed as “India Day.” Several organizations from the local Indo-Canadian community have come together to support the Ottawa 67’s. The entire south side of the arena has been sold out as a season first for the 67’s.

The second period intermission will feature two live Indian dance/entertainment pieces.

As another Ottawa hockey first, the game will be broadcast live in Punjabi on Rogers digits 368 and Ignite 430. The commentators will be Ottawa’s own, Ajitpal Dhaliwal, Raj Narula and Inderpal Bal.

ICCC SNOW is organizing a Charity fundraiser to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event will raise funds to support Interval House of Ottawa-Carleton, which provides a twenty bed shelter for abused women and their children and The Ottawa Mission which helps men experiencing homelessness.  Among other things, the Charity fundraiser will feature a panel discussion on “Equality” by inspiring local women followed by a live auction, entertainment and dinner.

Event details: April 04, 2020 at Palki Cuisine of India (1060 Ogilvie Road), 5:30 P.M.

YOUR help is needed to meet the goals set by the SNOW team for this great cause. This is how you can help:

– Purchase tickets to attend the event on April 04, 2020 at Palki Cuisine of India at 5:30 P.M. Ticket price is $35.00 per person and includes dinner, a panel discussion by inspiring women as well as a silent auction.

– Be a sponsor.

– Give a charitable donation. The donations to be made under the name of ICCC are fully tax deductible.

– Provide an item for the silent auction and indicate the approximate value of the item (new items with minimum $50 value); and

– Share this message with your friends and colleagues and encourage them to participate.
