Purpose: Update on the Annual General Meeting and other ICCC initiatives & upcoming events.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for the opportunity to share, about ICCC (values-based institution), the following:
- ICCC Annual General Meeting (AGM) – 24th June 2023:
- The successful in-person AGM elected three (3) new Board members namely: Mrs. Monica Gupta, Mr. Bhagya Chander and Mr. Gautam Subra.
- Three (3) retiring Board members namely Dr. Prabir Neogi, Dr. Virendra Bharti, and Mr. Vasdev Aggarwal will continue to serve ICCC in other capacities.
- The following officers of the board were appointed for 2023-24:
- President: Mr. Kanwal (Ken) Talwar
- Vice-President: Mrs. Rekha Dogra
- Secretary: Mr. Gautam Subra
- Treasurer: Mr. Bhagya Chander

- ICCC Collaborations – Participation in Community Events:
- Actively collaborated and participated in community events including:
- Lifestyle for Environment (Mission LiFE) Youth Presentations (High Commission of India)
- Asian Heritage Month (National Art Gallery)
- India-Canada Friendship Circle Seminar (Virtual)
- Numerous events by Mr. Chandra Arya, MP (Sir John A. McDonald Parliament Hall) and community associations
- Annual MSMF Picnic (Andrew Haydon Park)
- Annual Air India Disaster Memorial Service (Dow’s Lake)
- International Yoga Day Celebrations (High Commission of India – Nepean Sportsplex & Parliament Hill, Other)
- Actively collaborated and participated in community events including:
Further, significant upcoming ICCC collaborations & participation to promote rich Indian heritage include:
- Ottawa’s Friendship Circle Picnic – 8th July 2023
- India Canada Association’s Picnic – 27th August 2023
- Participating in a project to provide research evidence that can improve and strengthen policies and programs affecting immigrant families’ intergenerational relationships, including both immigration and social policy at federal and local levels. - ICCC 50th Anniversary Celebrations
Since 1973, ICCC’s endeavours have served Ottawa’s Indo-Canadian community in preserving and enhancing India’s rich heritage and cultural values.The current modus-operandi, since 2017, provides multiple platforms and opportunities, for services-oriented initiatives, to come together and promote – in a family friendly manner – India’s cultural heritage while enhancing Canadian multicultural values and mosaic.
Additional information about the ICCC 50th Anniversary Celebrations, to be held on 17th September 2023, will be available soon on the website.

- ICCC Youth Program
* Numerous essays, PPT presentations and educational guides developed by the youth to enhance awareness about India’s festivals and celebrations, rich heritage & cultural values among younger generations (2nd+), and to enable integration of growing number of students from India in the Canadian society are available from the ICCC Youth Program.* ICCC seeks community professionals as volunteers to provide guidance/mentorship to university students for its “Networking & Mentorship Program” component of the ICCC Youth Program. Please contact president@icccottawa.org to indicate your area of expertise for implementing this program.

ICCC celebrates the accomplishments of Indo-Canadian individuals in the National Capital Region. We welcome the news and information about these honours and accomplishments for posting on the ICCC Virtual Hub (Events Calendar, Forums, Social Media, etc.).
We invite you to contribute and share your suggestions, join ICCC and support its initiatives to highlight the significant contributions of Indo-Canadians, raise the community profile and jointly accomplish ICCC’s Vision.
